What Are Your Passions?

Do you love digging in the soil? Do you enjoy meeting new people and talking on the phone? Want to teach others how to spot birds or wildlife? How about the stars, do you love gazing at the stars? Maybe you love kids or just spending time outdoors. What ever it is, you can do it at the Poudre Learning Center.

Though the needs for volunteers are many, we have organized it into 3 catagories. [Cache la Poudre River]

Enviromental Education

Assisting PLC staff with teacher orientation workshops, open house events, school visits, classes, field trips, and special projects are but a few of the volunteer duties at the center.

Restoration And Land Maintenance

Qualified individuals may assist research scientist in such areas as wildlife surveys and other projects. Also a reclamation team which assist in native plant restoration projects including river and wetland restoration and maintaining restoration areas. Volunteers germinate seeds, propagate cuttings, transplant seedlings, prune, fertilize and water plants, pull weeds, and plant and nurture new native plants in the field as part of the PLC's restoration mission.

Administration

There are many opportunities at the PLC to share your skills in organization, computer and general admissive support. These volunteer positions can be shared with the right people.

Make A Difference! 

Through such activities as nature walks, talks, slide programs and on duty, volunteers help visitors understand and appreciate both natural and cultural history of the Poudre Learning Center as well as provide hands-on environmental experiences for participants of all ages. Volunteers can be part of an on-going commitment or just a part of a single day event.
